During the turbulent Republic of China period, a dancer's murder ignites conflicts among Nancheng's dark forces. Gu Manqing, who grew up with her sister, witnesses her sister's death on her wedding day at the hands of Lu Yichuan. After a failed attempt to kill him, Gu Manqing escapes and begins a new life. She later marries into a wealthy family, using it as the first step in her quest for revenge against Lu Yichuan.
